OUR FAMILY OWNED BARN
The Rutherford Ranch, formerly known as Rancho Linda Mio, is one of the oldest and most prestigious stables in Simi Valley/Moorpark, CA. We have provided quality care for generations of horses and their owners.
OUR MISSION
The mission of Rutherford Ranch is to be your premier equestrian barn specializing in the highest level of boarding and training for both horse and rider on an amateur and professional level. We will always put the care and wellness of your horse first. We strive to help you develop techniques to advance your riding ability as well as your relationship with your horse.
OUR ROLE
The most important role we have is the care of your horses. With daily cleanings, fresh water, turn-outs, grooming, feeding and gain, we strive to be the best we can. Through constant training and a responsible wellness practice, your horse will maintain in its top condition.
OUR LESSONS & TRAININGS
We offer individual lessons, as well as training for your horse through our Professional Trainer, Katie Wagner Show Horses. Katie has dedicated her life to developing practices and techniques that work for both horse and rider. Having been involved in various prestigious arenas, as a participant, coach and judge, Katie has various methods that can elevate you regardless of what level you or your horse are.

2 barns, fly misting system, roll up doors, tack room and lounging area. We provide clean shavings, daily clean out, feeding, turnouts in one of our 5 paddocks. Wash stations, cross-ties and more.

Each boarder has ability to utilize the tack room to store belongings. Doors are locked with a code system.

2 full sized outdoor arenas, free for all boarders to use, as weather and availability permits. Our upper arena consists of ranch riding and trail obstacles, both with premier footing. We also have a round pen for your use.

Rutherford Ranch believes strongly in the wellness of your horse. Some wellness equipment we provide is a Theraplate. This helps counter the effects of chronic inflammation conditions, speed healing, reduces pain and aids in the prevention of injury.

We talk about wellness often and have an Equine Chiropractor that visits our barn for your convenience. Chiropractic care can help manage the muscular, joint and neurologic portions of certain muscles or skeletal injuries in performance horses, as well as provide additional diagnostic approaches that are not currently available in veterinary medicine.

We work with several amazing mobile vets. From lameness to preventative medicine, the team of professional veterinaries provide the highest quality care in a low stress environment with minimal restraint.

Horses need their hooves trimmed and horseshoes replaced regularly. A highly trained and efficient farrier provides an important part of the regular care that keeps horses healthy.

Convenience is important to us. We offer cross-ties equipped with hoses for bathing and rinsing off.

Our paddocks are large enough for your horse to move freely, run about, and be a horse. We offer daily turnouts in one of our 5 different paddocks. Daily turnouts improves blood circulation, a crucial aspect of hoof health, and promotes healthier, more regulated digestion, which makes for a happier horse.
